What Went Wrong

As promised, yet sooner then you may have thought. Here is yet another poem of mine. And may I add this also. If you are, or were lucky enough to have one loving parent, or two. Never take them for granted. Over look any of the bad issues, and hold onto the good. Be forever thankful that they kept, cared for, and loved you.

Mother What Went Wrong ( 1996 )

Never a kiss, hug, I love you did I revieve

Only the wrong things done could your eyes see

Surly I was not so bad that I was not able to stay

What ever was done at age three was only child's play

Maybe my father you saw in my face

Memories so bad that not even time could erase

I think and wonder all the time why

you gave us away, my brother and I

A mother and father we shall never have

A grandma and grandpa for which we are very glad

Aunts and Uncles, they all took there turns

Trying to give to us when you had no concern

A stepmother that was no better than you

Young and not ready to be straddled with two

The only thing she knew was how to abuse

Until she was found out, and we were removed

Thousands of miles I drove to arrive

To be by you, as you were dying, at your bedside

Hoping to hear you say just one small thing

That you loved me and was sorry for being so mean

It was bad for the long trip that I made

For no one loving word from your lips did you make

What went wrong has gone with you to your grave

What ever the reasons were that you gave brother and I away

Life does seem unfair sometimes. I'm sorry you had that experience as a child. Yes, poetry does help heal. So does writing. Keep on hubbing!

Nice to see you again advisor4qb. I will keep on hubbing, just not as fast with it as you are...(smile). You spit hubs out faster then a female rabbit spits out baby bunnies...(smile).
